California Forensic Science Institute – I happen to do this website unfortunately!
I was given the work to customize a template & work on California Forensic Science Institute website (http://cal-fsi.com) and to my bad luck when I bid on this project, my only aim was to win the project and I forgot to notice it involved design customization as well which I am never been into. However, it was too low budget project of $50 carrying the content management + design customization.
It took me 2 complete days to finally give a result to the service seeker and he looked somewhat satisfied with the work. He wasn’t even able to move site to his server and so I had to step in again to set everything. It was tough on my part and I was able to take the stress.
However, once the work was completed …he came up saying “I didn’t do perfectly” and just delaying my payment, a small payment of $50 for the entire project which involved Content Management along with design.
When I had to ask him why is this? the response was “I am not satisfied with your work. but, anyway I will however pay you tomorrow”. The bottom line is the tomorrow he was talking off never came.
I’ve changed the administration password & again told him if I can receive payment. The answer was “We never saw such an unprofessional guy & it is a learning process for us”. I donno what they meant by that..learning process for them / for me. hehe
My work is to deliver result & I delivered without taking a single pie upfront. Their duty is to pay which they are ignoring for strange reasons. The recent update to this is they got their administration passwords through mysql database. huh!
This is one project where I had to beg for my money which I clearly deserved. I hope this situation does not happen to anyone else.
Lesson learn’ t : Always take Upfront payment before starting a work!
