Unable to write entry! Joomla??

“Unable to Write Entry” while installing components / modules / plugins…is one of those errors thats annoying & whatever you do in the backend / permissions…it will show no effect or you end up getting “Warning! – Failed to move file”

Solution to this: Disable PHP SAFE MODE ;)

You can disable PHP safe mode in your server’s configuration page. Login to your provider’s cpanel or admin panel and you should be able to find it there in your domain setup
    worked for me

I have same problem. Not with all plug ins but with some. Safe Mode on or off no difference. Same error.

This is in the error logs:

[Mon May 11 17:18:49 2009] [error] [client 71.197.61.12] PHP Warning: file_put_contents(/var/www/vhosts/domain.org/httpdocs/cms/tmp/install_4a089638f3b97/admin/) [function.file-put-contents]: failed to open stream: Is a directory in /var/www/vhosts/domain.org/httpdocs/cms/libraries/joomla/filesystem/file.php on line 297, referer: http://www.domain.org/cms/administrator/index.php
