Part #1: My Experience with Windows 7

When I first heard about Windows 7, I thought it would just fix the errors in that damn Vista edition. However, to my surprise, it turned out to be the best OS so far by Windows. Am still not 100% sure if its ‘the best’ in terms of User interface compared to ‘Windows XP’.

My friend & Online guru, Dustin gave a quick review on his blog that he is enjoying Windows 7 more than any other OS & is looking forward to purchase the licensed copy as soon as it launches in September. That made me try & research more about Windows 7.

YouTube videos helped me to get an overview of this wonderful OS & the free trail of Beta tempted me to upgrade my present Operating System. I have a Desktop & Laptop with me. I first tried it with Desktop because it had nothing important & I wanted to clean every shit lying in there. :P

Installation:

  1. Took me exactly 20 minutes to Install Windows 7. Compared to the usual 45 to 1 Hour installation of previous operating systems, installation with windows 7 is lightening fast.
  2. It didn’t take much longer to get to the start up screen & to get started.

First Impressions:

  1. First wanted to change the default wallpaper & tried to change it & found great themes built in. Whats more is that wallpaper changes every hour automatically depending on theme.
  2. Transparency: Everything is so fast & Transparent faster than Ajax effects which makes you have your crush on this OS.
  3. Task bar has icons instead of usual tabs making it simpler to manage more than 40 to 50 tasks at once!!
  4. Remember Vista, it has a different views for different folders which annoyed me when I used it. However, this has been rectified in Windows 7. Folder views are awesome!
  5. It’s more brighter, faster & definitely worth trying.

What am I doing right now:

  • Upgrading my Windows Vista Basic on laptop to Windows 7

more experiences…as I use. If you had any, right down in the comments section! We’ll discuss it out.
