Now Trending: #IconicIndianAds on Twitter brings Indians together
#IconicIndianAds is the present trending topic on twitter along with few others.Ads like “Hamara Bajaj”, “Vico Turmeric”, “Nirma”, “Menthos”, Desh ki Dhadkan – Hero Honda are some of the few posted by twitterwasis. Twitter traffic was limited to United States till 2008 but, from last year…it has rocked the entire world. Twitter has been a daily dose for tweeting & promoting in the 140 character limit it has to offer.
Indians who generally prefer Orkut over Facebook and very new to twitterverse have increased in multiples on Twitter. Twitter is easy to understand & yet, some people try to avoid it. However, the people who get used to twitter become Twitter Addicts.
I’ve read it somewhere that Dharmesh Gandhi (@dharmeshG) is the man behind starting this new trending topic #IconicIndianAds which focuses mainly on the way, the Indian Advertising company, has left behind their effect on the minds of people. While some are remembered as Iconic Ads …. few others have left some memories to cherish for Indian public.
With this trend picking up, more & more ads with their taglines are posted by Twitterers. It’s a fun journey & helping Indians get together to move this trending topic to #1 position. It’s also helping fellow Indians know about each other, make friendship & follow each other.
Approximately 500 tweets are posted every minute on #IconicIndianAds from across the Globe. Indians across the globe are participating, having fun, sharing their memories on TV ads that they remember and following each other with this trending topic.
So, how does twitter trends work?
One of the great things about Twitter is that its not just to share ‘What we are doing?’ but, its a place to share, indulge in conversations, follow people, make friends & build your businesses. Conversations in twitter can start with the like minded people by following them (or) they following. An Option for Direct Message to keep things private if you want to & Retweet if you like to share a particular users ‘tweet. It’s also a great place to track trends on the things people discuss across the globe. Sometimes, this trending can become too crazy with people involving in the trends sharing what they know about the topics that are currently trending. There are even more crazier people who just like to see their trends on top of others. Twitter Search is a great place to track emerging trends. When major events or big stories occur, people tweet about it and it inevitably ends up at the top of Twitter Search as a top trend.
There are a wide variety of web applications, Twitter accounts, and even iPhone apps that can help people do everything from track popular hashtags to graph out recent Twitter trends. As Twitter grows, this information will only become more useful for understanding what is popular at any given moment, or even what was popular in the past.
